Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about our services.

1. What age groups do you work with at UA Academy?

UA Academy provides coaching and counselling services for children, teens, and adults. Our children’s life coaching typically focuses on ages 8–16, while our adult coaching and counselling services are suitable for individuals of all ages.

2. What can I expect in a typical coaching session for children?

Children’s coaching sessions at UA Academy are interactive, positive, and goal-focused. Each session is designed to help children build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills through engaging activities and discussions. We use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) techniques and an Islamic framework to guide children in setting and achieving their goals.

3. How does adult life coaching at UA Academy differ from traditional counselling?

Our adult life coaching focuses on helping clients clarify their goals, overcome obstacles, and make actionable changes in their lives. Unlike traditional counselling, which may delve deeply into past issues, life coaching at UA Academy is forward-focused, aiming to equip clients with strategies and insights that empower them to move towards their goals.

4. What kind of issues can counselling and therapy at UA Academy help with?

UA Academy’s counselling and therapy services are here to support individuals facing a range of issues, including anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, self-confidence struggles, and more. We offer a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their feelings and work on solutions to improve their emotional well-being.

5. Are your coaching and counselling services faith-based?

Yes, UA Academy incorporates Islamic principles into our coaching and counselling approach, making our services ideal for individuals looking for guidance that aligns with Islamic values. However, our sessions are inclusive and supportive for people from all backgrounds.

6. How long is each session, and how many sessions do I need?

Each session typically lasts 60 minutes, depending on the service and age group. The number of sessions needed varies based on individual goals and progress, but most clients benefit from around 10 sessions.

7. Do you offer in-person sessions?

Currently UA Academy offers only online sessions to accommodate clients' schedules and preferences. Online sessions are conducted via Zoom.

8. How do I know if life coaching is right for my child?

If your child is facing challenges with confidence, academic motivation, behaviour, or simply needs positive guidance to reach their potential, life coaching can be highly beneficial. Our child-focused approach is structured to support young individuals in a gentle, affirming way. However, dedication, commitment and willingness to explore is a requirement from the clients. Feel free to book a FREE consultation call if you have any questions.

9. What are your qualifications and experience?

Our lead coach at UA Academy has over 15 years of experience in teaching, coaching, mentoring and counselling, as well as a background as an Imam and Khateeb. This unique combination allows us to offer a coaching approach that is both professional and deeply empathetic.

10. What are the fees for your services?

Fees vary depending on the type and duration of service. We offer competitive rates for individual sessions and discounted packages for multiple sessions. Please see the pricing section or contact us directly for specific pricing information tailored to your needs.

11. How does Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) work in your sessions?

SFBT is a short-term, goal-oriented therapy approach that focuses on building solutions rather than dwelling on problems. At UA Academy, we use SFBT to help clients quickly identify their strengths, clarify goals, and develop practical steps to move forward.

12. What is the difference between life coaching and counselling at UA Academy?

Life coaching at UA Academy is future-focused, helping clients set and achieve personal or professional goals. Counselling, on the other hand, provides a space for clients to explore and work through emotional or mental health issues. Both services are client-centred and supportive, but the focus and methods differ based on client needs.

13. Do you offer group sessions?

Yes, UA Academy offers group sessions for certain programs, including children’s workshops and group coaching sessions for adults. Group sessions can be a great way to build community, share experiences, and learn from others while working on personal growth. Stay tuned for Webinars.

14. Can parents be involved in their child’s coaching journey?

Absolutely. We encourage parental involvement, especially for younger clients, to ensure consistency and reinforcement of positive behaviours at home. We provide updates and tips for parents upon request to support their child’s development.
